Building 76 Renovation to Correct Research Deficiences

HICAPS was the Design-Build General Contractor for the Building 76 renovations for the Salem, Virginia VAMC, which included renovation of the first floor, south wing of the existing building. During the design, floor plan upgrades were presented to the VAMC that improved the placement of the patient waiting rooms, with adjoining toilets. Additionally, the copy/supply function was relocated to an interior space, creating an extra exterior office. Other improvements included adjusting door placement and size, and other aesthetic improvements. We worked with VA staff to identify cost savings to offset scope additions. The project was completed on time, and at the original contract amount of  $401,000.
