Brooks Global Studies

HICAPS, Inc., alongside C2 Contractors, was hired by Guilford County Schools to oversee the planning and execution of $300 million in bond projects starting in 2020. Our responsibilities include managing the planning, design, construction, contractors, and other vendors to ensure that projects are completed within scope, budget, on schedule, and in compliance with school construction codes and to a level of quality that exceeds industry standards. There are currently ten schools at various stages of completion, ranging from planning to successful completion.

Brooks Global Studies Elementary School was completed for Guilford County Schools as a replacement school for the existing Brooks Global Studies in Greensboro, N.C. The new building was built on the old Craven Elementary School campus and serves 350 students. This innovative facility encompasses 72,931 square feet and integrates sustainable features, including a 43-kW solar panel system and an on-site electric vehicle charging facility. The project was developed on a challenging 7.6-acre site, which incorporated large, curved retaining walls and an underground stormwater retention system to manage water runoff effectively.
