Peyton S. Fairbank joined HICAPS, Inc. in 1997 after serving seven years in the US Army. Mr. Fairbank currently serves the company as Vice President and Principal Officer.
FUNCTIONAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
In this capacity, Peyton provides overall direction and guidance of corporate activities to maximize growth and profitability while leading several internal divisions. He is responsible shaping and developing corporate strategy and for ensuring departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and in line with the corporate mission.
In addition, Peyton oversees the Construction Management and Federal Contracting Groups. Peyton directs and manages all construction management division operations including construction services as a consultant; traditional general construction and design build construction. He also directs and manages the HICAPS Federal Government Contracting division in the capacity of new business development strategies, directing capture teams in pursuit of government contracts, proposal generation and contract compliance.
Mr. Fairbank has also been appointed HICAPS’ Corporate Ethics Compliance Officer. Among other duties, Peyton is primarily responsible for ensuring all aspects of HICAPS’ operations are in compliance and consistent with the company’s code of ethics.

Peyton is a licensed General Contractor in NC and SC. He is also a licensed Construction Manager in the state of South Carolina. He is a member of the following organizations: Construction Professionals Network of NC, Carolinas Associated General Contractors (CAGC), Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), Society of Military Engineers (SAME), and United States Green Building Counsel (USGBC)
EDUCATION:
Peyton attended The Citadel, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. His continuing education includes the following schools and courses: Army Officer Air Defense Basic and Advance Course 1990 and 1995, Ft. Bliss, TX; US Army Jump School 1990, Ft. Benning, GA; Advanced Air Defense Short Range Missile Defense Course 1993, Ft. Bliss, TX; and Combined Arms and Service Staff School, Ft. Leavenworth, KS.
MILITARY:
Peyton served as an officer in the U.S. Army from 1990 -1997. He achieved the rank of Captain and served overseas in 1991 in support of Operation Desert Storm. He also served in the Republic of Korea from 1993-1994. His other duty assignments include Ft. Bragg, NC, Ft. Bliss, TX, Ft. Lewis, WA and Ft. Leavenworth, KS.
Personal interests/hobbies/etc:
Peyton lives an active lifestyle and enjoys water sports, tennis, golf, hunting and boating. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching his two sons play sports, and traveling with his wife. He is active in the Community and has been involved with BPO Elks, coaching with the YMCA and Boy Scouts.

NORTHERN GUILFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL, SUMMERFIELD, NC
Brand new 142,000 square foot, $23 million dollar middle school built on a 44 acre site. The project was one of the first sustainably designed and constructed schools in North Carolina. Peyton was the construction manager for the project interfacing with the school system, designers, teachers, PTA, school board members, contractors and local residents in the area during the design and construction. This school incorporate such sustainable design features as a rainwater harvesting system that supplied water to flush and sprinkle the building, daylight harvesting, living machine to treat sewage on site, bioswells and constructed wetlands, recycled materials & IEQ management, photovoltaic systems, solar hot water system and high mass walls.
EASTERN HIGH SCHOOL FIRE PROJECT, GUILFORD COUNTY, NC
Guilford County Schools requested Peyton to head up the renovation of an old existing campus for the school of the deaf after a fire destroyed Eastern Guildford High School. The donated space was not fit for occupation nor suited for the teaching environment of a high school. Peyton was brought on to lead a team of hundreds of contractors, subcontractors and maintenance personnel from Guilford County Schools to renovate 3 buildings and a campus to temporarily house the displaced students. Work was conducted around the clock for seven days straight to complete the renovation work of over 120,000 square feet in three buildings in the shortest amount of time. On average over 150 workers were onsite at any given hour during the renovation period. Work included construction of temporary bathrooms, renovation to existing cafeteria, conversion of dorm rooms into classrooms, addressed all handicap accessibility issues, life safety fire alarm and exit rework, construction of temporary roads, and general building repairs.
THOMAS BUILT BUS PLANT, HIGH POINT, NC
This project was a fast track Construction Management as Agent project that included a new design for a Saf-T-Liner C2 school bus. The owner of Thomas Built Bus collaborated with German engineers from the parent company of Mercedes-Benz and Freightliners Trucks. Peyton was the lead construction manager for HICAPS for the design and construction of the new 250,000 square foot, $70 million dollar manufacturing plant. The bus plant was designed and constructed in 16 months meeting an owner required duration/deadline. This project received the CPN Star Award.
NORTHERN GUILFORD HIGH SCHOOL, SUMMERFIELD, NC
Brand new 285,000 square foot, $58 million dollar high school built on a 66 acre site. This project was the first high school built by Guilford County School System in over 30 years and one of the first sustainably designed and constructed schools in North Carolina. Peyton was the construction manager for the project interfacing with the school system, designers, teachers, PTA, school board members, contractors and local residents in the area during the design and construction. The new high school included a cafeteria, media center, auditorium, main and auxiliary gyms, football and track stadium, baseball, softball and soccer fields, tennis courts, music and dance studios, physic and chemistry labs, and a central atrium gathering space. Sustainable design features included rainwater harvesting, daylighting, high mass wall systems, living machine to treat sewage on site, bioswells and constructed wetlands, recycled materials & IEQ management, photovoltaic systems, and below surface drip irrigation system.
